Meet Sarah Goodin

Since joining Ellinger & Carr in 2014, Sarah Goodin has been applying her expertise to the field of affordable housing development with a solution-oriented approach. Her work primarily involves representing developers and lenders in transactions and community development projects, which frequently utilize low-income housing tax credits and complex financing layers.

Sarah serves as lead counsel to developer clients throughout the course of a transaction, from the negotiation of purchase agreements to exploring title and real estate issues, to navigating complex financial structures to get to closing.

In addition to her work with developers and lenders, Sarah represents municipalities in their community development efforts. This includes assistance with the development of lending programs, serving as lender counsel on behalf of municipalities, and exploring options for opportunities and partnerships for affordable housing between municipalities and community partners. She also represents nonprofit organizations, providing guidance in obtaining tax-exempt status.

Sarah’s background includes significant experience in defending the rights of low-income individuals. She previously worked at Legal Aid of North Carolina in Ahoskie, where she represented clients in foreclosure actions and bankruptcy filings.
